Toulouse

The governance of the BACAP database consists of the coordination committee, the steering committee, and the scientific council.

Coordination committee

Composition

  • The coordinator,
  • The research director of the Toulouse University Hospital or one of their representatives,
  • The project coordination manager.

Mission

  • To instruct the integration of new centers and the exclusion of participating centers,
  • To implement the decisions of the scientific council and the steering committee,
  • To ensure the animation of the network,
  • To plan the budget allocation of obtained funding,
  • To establish an annual activity report based on reports written by the BACAP centers,
  • To appoint the project manager for the valorization of results,
  • To draft an annual scientific report of ongoing ancillary projects.

Steering committee

Composition

  • The coordinator,
  • The project coordination manager,
  • The scientific responsible of each center or one of their representatives.

Missions

  • To plan the operational activities of the network,
  • To be a source of proposals for the scientific committee,
  • To ensure operational arbitration of the network (mode of operation),
  • To guarantee compliance with regulations and established rules,
  • To ensure the sustainability of the network's tools (IT, database),
  • To define the common standards required for samples (procedures, operating modes, etc.) and associated data,
  • To define the access modalities to biological resources (requests, fees, embargoes, contracts, etc.),
  • To examine requests for membership in the network from new sites before submitting them to the Scientific Committee.

Scientific council

Composition

  • The coordinator,
  • The elected representative of each college (gastroenterologist, oncologist, digestive surgeon, pathologist, CRB manager, researcher, and epidemiologist) or their alternate,
  • The project coordination manager,
  • The head of the data management center.
  • College: gastroenterologist, oncologist, digestive surgeon, pathologist, CRB manager, researcher, and epidemiologist.

Missions

  • To scientifically evaluate ancillary projects,
  • To define the scientific orientations and strategy of the network,
  • To evaluate the activity report,
  • To determine access rights to data and/or identify relevant samples for studies conducted by the centers,
  • To determine the conditions for access and availability of data and samples for public or private third parties,
  • To determine the content of mentions related to the Partnership and the BACAP database within publications and communications.
